Master of Product Design Labs
In order to design industrial objects, designers must be professionals who have the ability to respond to the social, technological and economic changes of our global reality.
Current economic and social situations are forcing the industry to drastically reorganize, reinvent and adapt itself to the market at dizzying speeds. Entrepreneurs find a market saturated with designers, no longer the demand for products, but rather closed proposals: innovative ideas translated to concrete products, carefully designed down to the last detail and ready for industrialization.
Designers are forced to generate fresh and current ideas and involve themselves in all different phases of product creation. They must be capable of defining, executing and directing their own design project, forming interdisciplinary teams and coordinating the work of all the professionals necessary for developing an industrially-manufactured product.
COURSE DETAILS
Course coordinator: Álvaro Catalán de Ocón
Duration: 1.500 hours.
Start date: January 27th 2011.
End Date: December 2011 (vacation during August 2011).
Schedule: Monday to Friday, full-time. Including two 5/6-day trips. The trips and accommodations during these trips is included in the price.
Aimed at: Designers from any specialty, architects and engineers with academic and professional experience, who want to specialize and materialize an idea into a specific product or project. We recommend that participants arrive at the Masters with a project in mind to develop, since the program gives them the ideal time and place to do it.
Admission process: To access this program, students will be selected based on a currículum vítae, work portfolio (for students who can offer one), presentation letter expressing your interest in this program. High level of English, both spoken and written. Personal or telephone interview.
Certification: Upon completing the course, an accredited diploma will be presented to students for the successful and satisfactory completion of the course.
Attendance: Attendance is mandatory to all programmed classes and activities throughout the course. The maximum allowed justified absences will be 15% of the total class hours.
Price: 15.500 € (3.000 € registration + 12.500 € course fee). Possibility of applying for bank financing of the course fee.
